Tembe hosts the Big 5  and is known for its magnificent elephants (including some of the biggest living tuskers), more than 340 bird species and is renowned for its lion sightings.  Activities: game viewing, birding, photography. 1h15min (77km) from Sodwana Bay.

False Bay Park borders Lake St Lucia and is well known for its marine fossils, hippo, crocodiles, and warthog.  Several short walking trails meander through a variety of landscapes. Activities: birding, fishing, nature trails, game viewing, picnicking. 1.5h (90km) from Sodwana.

Cape Vidal offers the best of two worlds - amazingly rich marine life and elephant, rhino, buffalo, crocodile and hippo. Its hosts a prime snorkeling area and unspoilt beaches. Activities: game viewing, guided walks, birding, snorkeling, and fishing.  3h (190km) from Sodwana Bay.
